a NOTE FROM pASTOR JOHNSON
From Pastor Johnson
I greet you in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and Savior of the world. It always gives me boundless joy to share with you through our church newsletter. I pray our church newsletter is a blessing to you as it is to me. It is impossible for the church staff to keep you updated on everything God is doing in Greater First Baptist Church. So, I pray our church newsletter will give you glances of what God is doing in your church. It is springtime! I always think of Spring as a season of new beginnings. For me, Springtime is a fresh start. We all need fresh starts in our lives. When I read the gospel of John 4:1-42, I think about fresh start. In John 4:1-42, Jesus Christ meets a Samaritan woman who had a difficult life. She lived an isolated life because of her social relationship behaviors. The bible does not give us details except that she had been married five times and the man she was currently with was not her husband. Even though she was a religious person, she had social relationship problems. The good news is that she encountered Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ gave her a new fresh perspective on life. After her encounter with Jesus Christ, she publicly witnesses to others about Jesus Christ, the Messiah. Without going into details, Jesus Christ gave this woman a fresh start. Jesus gave her a new attitude, a new self-esteem, and a way of approaching others in society. I encourage you to read John 4:1-42. Please noticed that Jesus Christ came to the Samaritan and gave her a fresh start. Jesus still gives us fresh starts. Even where you are right now in your mind and heart, Jesus Christ can give you a fresh start because He is the Living Water inside of you as He promise those who believe (John 4:10). Ask the Lord to give you a fresh start.
PrayerLord, I thank you for fresh starts. I ask that you grant us spiritual, mental, and physical freshness in our lives. Give us Lord fresh starts so that we can tell others about Jesus Christ.
Amen!
