1. The Goal
To free the church of its obligation every month of paying a mortgage payment to Lincoln County Bank. Pastor Johnson has a desire not to leave any debt for the next Generation of Greater First Baptist Church believers.
2. Current Loan Details
Greater First Baptist Church has a balance of $322,000 with Lincoln County Bank, with a rate of 4.25 % that come up for renewal on August 15, 2026. The interest rate will increase. The previous Pledge Campaign has dwindled from its peak monthly participation of 88 church members to a 22 consistent monthly giver. With decreased participation GOD continued to bless the churches finances to allow the church to pay off an additional $84,000 to the principal payments to the loan balance.
3. Options for Reaching the Goal
We must maintain and increase our current level of giving in hope of reaching the Note Burning Goal. We will be instituting Sacrifice Sunday on the 3rd Sunday of every month until the church is paid off. To include all money collected to be paid directly to loan payment. We ask that all church members reach out to your Family Members and Absentee Member of Greater First Baptist Church to help us achieve our Goal. We will pen an open letter to the Marshall County to allow the community to help
Greater First Baptist Church reach our Goal. And finally , we will reach out to all the Community Groups that use our current building for meetings and events to make donations to our Note Burning Goal.
